THE L-TYROSINE AMINO ACID

Amino acids are the components of proteins.  If we join several amino acid molecules together, we could build proteins like meat, eggs and cheese.

There are more than 20 different amino acids that have been identified.  Each one of them has a certain quality that makes them different from the others.

The one that is of interest, to those of us who want to overcome a “slow metabolism”, is the amino acid called      L-Tyrosine.

L-Tyrosine is called “nature’s antidepressant.            L-Tyrosine improves functioning and mental abilities during moments of severe stress.  Various studies have shown that L-Tyrosine revitalizes enthusiasm and motivation that someone normally loses when they find themselves affected by a stressful environment.

L-Tyrosine is also part of the molecule of the hormone T4 that the thyroid produces.  In other words, if there is a shortage of the amino acid L-Tyrosine, the thyroid gland won’t be able to build enough of the T4 hormone and the metabolism will be affected.

L-Tyrosine has effectively been used as a natural antidepressant. It is also used as therapy for hypertension (high blood pressure), lack of libido (sexual desire), excessive appetite and to break cocaine addictions.

L-Tyrosine reduces your appetite.  It has been discovered that obese people have lower levels of L-Tyrosine than thin people.  That is exactly why obese people always seem to have an excessive appetite. Using L-Tyrosine reduces your appetite and lets you feel like you are in control when you come in contact with foods.

Low levels of L-Tyrosine have been found in depressed patients or patients with sexual dysfunction.  For patients with hypothyroidism, L-Tyrosine is incredibly helpful.

As a way of improving the metabolism L-Tyrosine, in the correct dosages, will really do wonders for you.
